Checking out the 'Beach' in Stockholm

Getting ready for picnic on the beach
I love the beach so I wanted to check out the beach in Stockholm on my birthday.

We decided to go to Langholmen beach since it looked like it was the closest beach from our apartment. We stopped by at Systembolaget (Government owned liquor store, like Norway's Vinmonopolet, this chain of stores have the monopoly in selling liquors in Sweden, excepting low % alcohol like beer) and then to ICA for some cheese & bread.

So to get there, we caught the bus from Skanstull T-bana (in front of the metro station) bus no.4 towards Radiohuset. It took us about 15 minutes to Västerbroplan. We then walked to the 'beach' - about 5 minutes walk.

Like everything else in Scandinavian countries, the bus ticket was very expensive too. Return ticket for this was $10 per person! (Plus you have to buy the 'card' for $3 - which you use to add money in)

Expensive Bus

The beach was.... I guess Stockholm version of the beach. Not quite the white sand and emerald blue water but good enough : )
We had a nice picnic - happy birthday to me, yay!
