Some of our favourites are....(and there are still a lot more we wanted to eat, I guess we would just have to go back! :-)
1. Roti Canai
They are so yummy!!! And super cheap. People eat this mainly for breakfast. We found this amazing Roti restaurant called Mansion Tea Stall. We ordered Roti Canai and their special Roti with soft egg / gravy - all up it was $1.16 AUD!
We loved it so much, we came back again the next day.

2. Chilly Pan Mee
I was very much looking forward to trying out Chilly Pan Mee since I heard so many good things! I was not dissapointed. I can see why it can be addictive.3. Dosa
Because Malaysia is such a multicultural country, the variety of food is also very diverse. There are Indian, Chinese, Malay and others. We tried some very nice Indian food while we were walking around in Brickfields, aka Little India.
Dosa is a type of pancake from the Indian subcontinent, a typical Southern Indian dish.
4. Durian
I don't think a trip to Malaysia is complete without trying a bit of Durian, or in our case a whole Durian. This was my first time ever trying Durian (not Frode's). At first, I didn't really like the texture (not bad taste, it was very creamy and it was .... interesting) but now that I am back in Australia, I really want to try it again.
5. Nasi Campur
Nasi campur is a dish of a scoop of nasi putih (cooked rice) accompanied by small portions of a number of other dishes, they can be meats, vegetables, fish, eggs, peanuts and fried-shrimp.6. Pandan Rice
Simple but very delicious.7. Putu Bambu
It is a traditional cylindrical-shaped and green-colored steamed cake. Sweet but not too sweet and very delicious. The cake is made with rice flour (it's green from pandan leaf) and filled with palm sugar, served with grated coconut.8. Banana Leaf Meal
Place all of rice and cover it with different curries and sauce - eat it with hand.9. Nasi Lemak
Nasi Lemak is a national dish of Malaysia. It consists of Malay fragrant rice cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaf, a very hot sauce called Sambal, fresh cucumber slices, fried anchovies, roasted peanuts, fried egg (or hard-boiled) and some meat.10. Laksa
We had to try Laksa in Malaysia. I had the normal Laksa and Frode had a vegetarian version (from two different places).11. Fruits
Fruits are so good in Malaysia. And they are cheap.
We are definitely coming back to Malaysia!
